- Provide academic guidance and support to students to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the university's academic policies and procedures.
- Meet with students regularly to discuss academic progress, course selection, and degree planning.
- Assist students in creating individualized academic plans that align with their interests and goals.
- Stay updated on changes to degree requirements and communicate them to students.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address academic challenges faced by students.
- Utilize student data and academic resources to provide personalized support to students.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and academic progress.
- Act as a liaison between students and other university departments, such as financial aid and student services.
- Attend and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in academic advising.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards when working with students.
- Assist with orientation and registration processes for new students.
- Provide guidance to students on study abroad opportunities and transfer credits.
- Continuously evaluate and improve academic advising processes to better serve students.
Master's Degree In Counseling, Education, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Academic Advising Or Related Field.
Strong Knowledge Of Johns Hopkins University's Academic Programs, Policies, And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build Rapport And Establish Trust With Students.
Demonstrated Ability To Work Collaboratively With Faculty, Staff, And Other Advisors To Support Student Success.
