
Vascular Access Nurse

- Provide safe and effective placement of vascular access devices, including central lines, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC), and arterial lines.
- Manage the care and maintenance of vascular access devices, including monitoring for complications and performing dressing changes.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients requiring vascular access procedures.
- Educate patients and their families about the purpose and care of vascular access devices, as well as signs and symptoms to watch for.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and best practices for vascular access procedures.
- Monitor and document patient response to vascular access procedures, including any adverse reactions or complications.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain knowledge of current evidence-based practices in vascular access care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all procedures, assessments, and interventions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations related to vascular access procedures and patient care.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, including proper handling and disposal of sharps and other medical waste.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to vascular access care.
Active Rn License In The State Of Maryland And Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Vascular Access Nursing.
Certification In Vascular Access (Va-Bc Or Crni) Preferred.
Knowledge Of Current Evidence-Based Practices And Guidelines Related To Vascular Access Procedures.
Proficiency In Ultrasound-Guided Peripheral And Central Line Placement, As Well As Maintenance And Troubleshooting Of Vascular Access Devices.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Collaborate With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.
