- Perform vascular access procedures on patients using sterile techniques and following established protocols.
- Monitor and assess patients' vascular access sites for complications or abnormalities.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on the importance of maintaining proper vascular access and provide instructions on self-care techniques.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of all procedures and patient interactions.
- Stay up-to-date on current best practices and advancements in vascular access techniques.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with existing vascular access devices.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment at all times.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and improve overall care delivery.
- Provide emotional support and compassion to patients and their families during difficult procedures.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the highest standards of patient care.
- Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, demonstrating excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure continuity of care.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Current And Valid State Nursing License.
Certification In Vascular Access, Such As Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (Crni) Or Vascular Access Board Certified (Va-Bc).
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Vascular Access Nursing.
Strong Knowledge Of Anatomy And Physiology Related To Vascular Access, As Well As A Thorough Understanding Of Infection Control And Safety Protocols.
