- Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures in accordance with department protocols and standards.
- Prepare and position patients for ultrasound exams, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Select appropriate equipment, settings, and transducers for each exam.
- Review patient medical history and explain procedures to patients, answering any questions or concerns they may have.
- Monitor patient condition during exams and report any unusual findings or reactions to the physician.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of exams, including patient information, images, and observations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of equipment and report any malfunctions or concerns.
- Keep up-to-date with advances in ultrasound technology and techniques through continuing education and training.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to protect patients and staff from potential hazards.

Certified Ultrasound Technician: Applicants For The Prn Ultrasound Technician Position At Johns Hopkins Medicine Must Possess A Current And Valid Certification From The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Or The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt).
Minimum Education And Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or A Related Field. Previous Experience In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Ultrasound Equipment And Techniques: The Ideal Candidate Will Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Ultrasound Machines And Their Capabilities. They Should Also Be Familiar With Different Ultrasound Techniques And Protocols For Various Types Of Exams.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Prn Ultrasound Technician, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential. This Includes Being Able To Explain Procedures, Answer Questions, And Provide Clear And Accurate Information.
Flexibility And Availability: The Position Of Prn Ultrasound Technician Requires A High Level Of Flexibility And Availability To Work On An As-Needed Basis. Candidates Must Be Willing To Work Various Shifts, Including Weekends And Holidays, To Meet The Needs Of The Department.
