
Trauma and Burn Data Abstractor
Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Trauma and Burn Data Abstractor. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and maintaining trauma and burn-related data from patient records. You will also be tasked with assessing the accuracy and completeness of data to ensure that data is up-to-date and meets the necessary quality standards. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well independently. We require a Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field, and a minimum of three years’ experience in a healthcare environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 coding is also a must. Previous experience in abstracting trauma and burn data is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and maintain trauma and burn-related data from patient records.
- Assess the accuracy and completeness of data to ensure that data is up-to-date and meets the necessary quality standards.
- Utilize medical terminology and ICD-10 coding.
- Monitor and maintain data accuracy and integrity.
- Generate reports and other documentation as needed.
- Assist with data entry and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and troubleshoot data issues.
- Research and develop new protocols and procedures for data abstraction.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices.
