- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and family members regarding transfusion therapy and any potential risks or complications.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of blood products to ensure an adequate supply for patient needs.
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure accuracy and safety of blood products.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the quality and efficiency of transfusion services.
- Provide education and training to healthcare providers and staff on proper transfusion protocols and procedures.
- Stay current on advancements and changes in transfusion medicine and implement best practices.
- Serve as a resource and point of contact for any questions or concerns related to transfusion services.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all aspects of the job.
Current Rn License In The State Of Maryland
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In Transfusion Services
Certification As A Transfusion Nurse (Ctn) Or Certified Blood Bank Technologist (Cbbt)
Knowledge Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Blood Transfusion And Blood Banking
