  1. Coordinate and manage all aspects of the transfusion process, including ordering, inventory management, and monitoring for adverse reactions.

  3. Utilize strong clinical background to assess patient needs and make appropriate decisions regarding transfusion therapy.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all transfusion activities.
  5. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies related to blood product handling and transfusion.
  6. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and family members regarding transfusion therapy and any potential risks or complications.
  7. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of blood products to ensure an adequate supply for patient needs.
  8. Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure accuracy and safety of blood products.
  9. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the quality and efficiency of transfusion services.
  10. Provide education and training to healthcare providers and staff on proper transfusion protocols and procedures.
  11. Stay current on advancements and changes in transfusion medicine and implement best practices.
  12. Serve as a resource and point of contact for any questions or concerns related to transfusion services.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License In The State Of Maryland

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In Transfusion Services

  • Certification As A Transfusion Nurse (Ctn) Or Certified Blood Bank Technologist (Cbbt)

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Blood Transfusion And Blood Banking
