- Prepare surgical equipment and supplies for upcoming procedures.
- Anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by following proper infection control protocols.
- Assist surgeons with surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Monitor and document patient vitals and assist with patient positioning.
- Handle and dispose of surgical specimens according to hospital policy.
- Ensure proper functioning of equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
- Serve as a resource for other staff members regarding surgical procedures and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Continuously monitor and assess patient condition and report any changes to the surgical team.

Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Program: Candidates Must Have Successfully Completed A Program In Surgical Technology From An Accredited Institution.
Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Certification As A Surgical Technologist (Cst) From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Instruments, And Equipment Used In A Variety Of Surgical Specialties.
Attention To Detail: The Role Of A Surgical Technologist Requires Precision And Attention To Detail In Order To Assist The Surgical Team Effectively And Maintain A Sterile Environment.
