Sterile Processing Technician

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for decontaminating, sterilizing, and assembling medical instruments used by our medical staff. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control principles. Responsibilities:

1. Follow established protocols for decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of medical instruments.
2. Maintain a thorough understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control principles.
3. Ensure all medical instruments are in proper working condition and adequately cleaned and sterilized.
4. Document all instrument processing activities in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
5. Communicate effectively with medical staff to ensure that all instruments are available and in good working order.
6. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures in the handling of medical instruments.
7. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
8. Assist in the training and orientation of new sterile processing technicians.
9. Remain current on new trends and developments in the sterile processing field. 10.Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
