  1. Oversee the daily operations of the sterile processing department to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained.
  2. Supervise and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective performance.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels are maintained at all times.
  5. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure all equipment and processes are in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sterile equipment and supplies to various areas of the hospital.
  7. Train and educate staff on proper sterilization techniques, infection control, and safety protocols.
  8. Evaluate and troubleshoot any issues related to the processing of sterile equipment and supplies.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all processes and procedures.
  10. Serve as a role model for team members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  11. Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and developments, and implement new technologies and processes as necessary.
  12. Represent the department in meetings and committees related to sterile processing operations.
  13. Monitor and manage budgetary and financial aspects of the department, including purchasing and cost control.
  14. Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  15. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of services.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of Five Years Of Experience In Sterile Processing Or A Related Field, With At Least Two Years In A Supervisory Role.

  • Knowledge And Proficiency In Sterile Processing Techniques, Infection Control Protocols, And Medical Equipment Sterilization.

  • Familiarity With Applicable Regulatory Standards, Such As Osha, Cdc, And Joint Commission.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Motivate A Team.

  • Certification As A Sterile Processing Technician Or A Related Certification, Such As Crcst Or Cis.
