Job Description

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team on a PRN (as needed) basis. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing various mechanical and electrical systems within our facilities. As a vital member of our team, you will ensure that our buildings are running smoothly and efficiently, helping us achieve our goal of providing exceptional patient care.   1. Operate, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems within the healthcare facility.
  2. Monitor and maintain proper functioning of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  3. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with mechanical systems, and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  4. Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
  5. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
  6. Respond to emergency situations and provide prompt resolution to minimize disruptions to patient care.
  7. Collaborate with other members of the facilities team to identify and address potential issues and implement improvements.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  9. Keep abreast of advancements in mechanical systems and make recommendations for upgrades or replacements as needed.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
  11. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to provide updates on maintenance and repair activities.
  12. Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing solutions.
  13. Follow all established policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care by ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing Johns Hopkins Medicine to patients, visitors, and staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Stationary Engineer In A Healthcare Or Large Commercial Facility.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge Of Hvac Systems, Electrical Systems, And Plumbing Systems.

  • Ability To Troubleshoot And Repair Equipment And Systems In A Timely And Efficient Manner.

  • Possession Of A Valid Stationary Engineer License Or Certification.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Other Facilities And Clinical Staff.
