The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience as a Sonographer with a strong technical background and excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities of a Sonographer at Johns Hopkins Medicine:

  1. Perform ultrasound scans following established protocols and standards.
  2. Utilize imaging equipment to acquire diagnostic images and provide patient information to physicians.
  3. Maintain accurate records of patient data and imaging results.
  4. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
  5. Follow infection control protocols to ensure a sterile work environment.
  6. Maintain knowledge of current technological advances in ultrasound imaging.
  7. Educate patients on the imaging procedure and answer any questions they may have.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure patient care is provided in a comprehensive and timely manner.
  9. Develop and implement quality assurance initiatives for ultrasound imaging.
  10. Assist with research projects related to ultrasound imaging.
