  1. Monitor and analyze neurophysiological data in real-time during surgical procedures.
  2. Ensure the safety and success of surgical procedures through the use of cutting-edge technology and advanced monitoring techniques.
  3. Collaborate with surgical teams to provide accurate and timely information to assist in decision-making.
  4. Maintain a high level of proficiency in intraoperative monitoring techniques and keep up-to-date with industry advancements.
  5. Communicate effectively with fellow team members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  6. Analyze and interpret data to identify potential risks and alert the surgical team of any changes in neurological function.
  7. Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure proper functioning of monitoring equipment.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient data and procedures.
  9. Educate patients and their families about the role of intraoperative monitoring and address any questions or concerns.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
  11. Train and mentor junior intraoperative monitoring technicians.
  12. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  13. Continuously strive to improve processes and efficiency within the intraoperative monitoring department.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field: A Senior Intraoperative Monitoring Technician At Johns Hopkins Medicine Is Expected To Have A Strong Foundation In Neuroscience, Biology, Or A Related Field To Understand The Complex Processes Of The Nervous System.

  • Certification In Intraoperative Neuromonitoring: Candidates Should Be Certified By The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret) As A Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. Eeg T.) Or A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (R. Psg T.).

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Intraoperative Neuromonitoring: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience As An Intraoperative Monitoring Technologist, With A Proven Track Record Of Successful Monitoring And Interpreting Of Neurophysiological Data.

  • Strong Technical Skills: Senior Intraoperative Monitoring Technicians Should Possess Strong Technical Skills, Including Proficiency In Various Intraoperative Monitoring Modalities Such As Somatosensory Evoked Potentials, Motor Evoked Potentials, And Electroencephalography.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Senior Intraoperative Monitoring Technician, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, And Other Members Of The Surgical Team Is Essential. Candidates Should Also Have A Proven Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Fast-Paced, High-Pressure Environment.
