  1. Provide specialized nursing care to patients in need of vascular access procedures.
  2. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Monitor and assess patients' conditions, administer medications and treatments as ordered, and document all interventions and outcomes.
  4. Educate patients and their families on procedures, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  5. Ensure proper and safe use of equipment and supplies during procedures and maintain accurate documentation of all procedures.
  6. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain knowledge and skills related to vascular access procedures.
  7. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during procedures and throughout their treatment.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures regarding patient care, safety, and infection control.
  9. Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their rights and needs are respected and addressed.
  10. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and provide quality care.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  13. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records.
  14. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and a positive attitude towards patients and their families.
  15. Display a commitment to excellence in medical education, research, and patient care in line with the Johns Hopkins Medicine mission.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required To Qualify For A Registered Nurse - Vascular Access Team Position At Johns Hopkins Medicine. This Degree Demonstrates A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Prepares Individuals For Advanced Nursing Roles.

  • Registered Nurse (Rn) License: To Practice As A Registered Nurse, Individuals Must Hold A Current And Valid Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working. At Johns Hopkins Medicine, This Is A Mandatory Qualification For The Vascular Access Team Position.

  • Vascular Access Certification: A Certification In Vascular Access, Such As The Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (Crni) Or The Vascular Access Board Certification (Va-Bc), Is Preferred For This Position. This Certification Demonstrates Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Vascular Access Procedures And Management.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Vascular Access: The Ideal Candidate For A Registered Nurse - Vascular Access Team Position At Johns Hopkins Medicine Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In Vascular Access. This Experience Should Include Placing And Maintaining Central Lines, Peripheral Ivs, And Other Vascular Access Devices.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Effective Communication And Teamwork Are Essential Qualities For A Successful Vascular Access Team Nurse. At Johns Hopkins Medicine, The Vascular Access Team Works Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals, And The Ability To Communicate Clearly And Work Collaboratively Is Crucial For Delivering High-Quality Patient Care.
