  1. Provide high-quality patient care: As a Registered Nurse in the Outpatient Operating Room, your main responsibility will be to provide top-quality care to patients. This includes assessing patient needs, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing medical procedures as needed.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team: In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other nurses. You will be responsible for communicating and collaborating effectively with the team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  3. Follow established protocols and procedures: You will be expected to follow all established protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety and maintain high standards of care. This may include preparing patients for surgery, setting up and maintaining sterile equipment, and following infection control practices.
  4. Maintain accurate records: It is essential to maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including assessments, medications administered, and procedures performed. This information is critical for continuity of care, quality control, and patient safety.
  5. Educate patients and families: As a compassionate and skilled nurse, you will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and post-operative care. This includes providing clear and understandable instructions, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry developments: As part of your responsibility to provide excellent care, you will need to stay current with developments and advancements in healthcare. This may involve attending training, workshops, and conferences, as well as keeping up-to-date with new medical procedures and technologies.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean environment: You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This may include ensuring proper disposal of medical waste, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to infection control protocols.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree From An Accredited Institution: This Degree Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For Rns At Johns Hopkins Medicine, And It Provides A Comprehensive Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice.

  • Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Maryland: All Rns At Johns Hopkins Medicine Must Hold A Valid And Current License To Practice In The State Of Maryland, Ensuring Compliance With State Regulations And Standards.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Outpatient Or Ambulatory Care Settings: Experience In Outpatient Or Ambulatory Care Is Highly Valued At Johns Hopkins Medicine, As These Settings Require A Unique Set Of Skills And Competencies That Differ From Inpatient Care.

  • Bls And Acls Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For Rns At Johns Hopkins Medicine, As They Are Responsible For Responding To Emergency Situations And Providing Life-Saving Interventions.
