Job Description

Welcome to Johns Hopkins Medicine, where we provide exceptional care to our patients and their families. We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of patients and their families, providing expert care and support during their most vulnerable moments.   1. Provide expert nursing care for pediatric patients in the Cardiac ICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing procedures as ordered by physicians.
  2. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients based on their medical needs.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support to help them understand their medical conditions and treatment plans.
  4. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment.
  5. Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team, and assist in emergency situations as needed.
  6. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
  7. Participate in unit meetings and educational opportunities to stay updated on current practices and advancements in pediatric cardiac care.
  8. Serve as a resource and mentor for new or less experienced nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  9. Maintain a compassionate and caring attitude towards patients and their families, recognizing their emotional needs and providing emotional support as necessary.
  10. Continuously work towards improving the quality of care provided in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as appropriate.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.

  • Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Maryland.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Pediatric Cardiac Icu.

  • Advanced Certification In Pediatric Critical Care Nursing (Pccn) Or Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (Pals).

  • Strong Clinical Skills And Knowledge Of Specialized Equipment And Procedures Used In The Pediatric Cardiac Icu Setting.
