- Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients with acute psychiatric needs in the Acute Inpatient Psychiatry unit.
- Specialize in the treatment of schizophrenia and utilize evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and assess patients' physical and mental health, including vital signs, medication effectiveness, and behavioral changes.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments and ensure proper documentation.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, following all hospital policies and procedures.
- Advocate for patients' needs and rights, while promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make necessary adjustments.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Stay current on advancements in mental health care and incorporate best practices into daily practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with community resources to coordinate discharge plans and ensure continuity of care.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice and maintain patient confidentiality.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Higher: Candidates For This Position Must Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. A Higher Degree, Such As A Master's In Nursing, Is Preferred.
Active Rn License In The State Of Maryland: The Candidate Must Have A Current And Active Registered Nurse License In The State Of Maryland. This License Should Be In Good Standing And Without Any Restrictions.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Acute Inpatient Psychiatry: Candidates Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. This Experience Should Include Caring For Patients With Schizophrenia And Other Severe Mental Illnesses.
Bls And Acls Certifications: The Candidate Must Be Certified In Both Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) From The American Heart Association.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Position Requires Frequent Interaction With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate And Provide Quality Care To Patients With Schizophrenia.
