Job Description

At Johns Hopkins Medicine, we are currently searching for a talented and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will provide patients with quality care while utilizing the latest radiation technology. You will be responsible for administering prescribed doses of radiation therapy to patients in order to treat cancer and other diseases. You must possess a strong patient focus, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy, as well as any state-mandated certification or licensure. Responsibilities of a Radiation Therapist:

  1. Administer prescribed doses of radiation therapy to cancer patients and other patients in need of radiation treatment.
  2. Utilize state-of-the-art technology and equipment to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
  3. Maintain patient records and update them regularly.
  4. Develop treatment plans for each patient and monitor their progress throughout their treatment.
  5. Provide support and answer questions from patients and their families.
  6. Educate and inform patients and their families about the risks and benefits of radiation treatments.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcome for each patient.
  8. Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
  9. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay current on the latest developments in radiation therapy.
  10. Participate in research and clinical trials, if applicable.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Radiation Therapy

  • Certified By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Radiation Therapy

  • Current Maryland State Radiation Therapy License

  • Current Certification In Basic Life Support (Cpr)

  • Ability To Operate Radiation Therapy Equipment

  • Knowledge Of Radiation Safety And Protection Principles

  • Ability To Accurately Document Patient Care Activities

  • Knowledge Of Pertinent Medical Terminology.
