- Assess and evaluate patients in need of trauma surgery, including obtaining detailed medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients, including monitoring and managing their condition, administering medications, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
- Assist surgeons during surgery, including performing tasks such as suturing, closing incisions, and providing support and assistance as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and post-operative care instructions.
- Document all patient encounters and procedures accurately and thoroughly in medical records.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless and comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on new developments and advances in the field of trauma surgery, and implement evidence-based practices in daily work.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion while interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Follow all legal and ethical standards, including maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting their rights and wishes.
Master's Degree From An Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
Current Certification By The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In A Surgical Setting, Preferably In Trauma Surgery.
Strong Clinical Knowledge And Skills In Managing Acute Trauma Patients, Including Performing Advanced Procedures Such As Intubation, Chest Tube Insertion, And Wound Management.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment.
