Job Description

Responsibilities:

  3. Provide hands-on therapy to patients, including wound care techniques, exercises, and modalities.
  4. Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  5. Educate patients and their families on proper wound care and rehabilitation techniques.
  6. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  8. Stay up-to-date on the latest wound care research and techniques to provide the best possible care for patients.
  9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  11. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
  12. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice.
  14. Provide support and guidance to other team members, including physical therapy assistants and support staff.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Physical Therapy: Candidates Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Physical Therapy From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Will Provide The Necessary Foundation In Anatomy, Physiology, And Kinesiology For A Successful Career In Wound Care.

  • Current State License: Candidates Must Possess A Valid State License To Practice As A Physical Therapist. This Ensures That The Therapist Is Qualified And Authorized To Provide Wound Care Services In The State Of Maryland.

  • Wound Care Certification: Candidates Should Have A Specialized Certification In Wound Care, Such As The Certified Wound Specialist (Cws) Or Wound Care Certified (Wcc) Credential. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In Wound Care Management.

  • Previous Experience In Wound Care: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience In Wound Care, Preferably In A Clinical Setting. This Experience Will Provide The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Assess And Treat Wounds Effectively.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Physical Therapists Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work With Patients, Caregivers, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Is Especially Important In Wound Care, As It Involves Working Closely With Patients To Develop Treatment Plans And Educate Them On Proper Wound Care Techniques.
