
Pharmacy Technician
Johns Hopkins Medicine is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support to pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has a good understanding of pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate must possess excellent customer service skills and have a great attitude. The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid pharmacy technician license in good standing. In addition, they must have at least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or retail setting. A Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is a plus. We are looking for an individual that is able to work independently and as part of a team, and who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Follows all state and federal laws in the storage, preparation, and distribution of medications and other pharmaceutical products.
- Maintains accurate records of all medications dispensed and received.
- Assists pharmacists in filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and staff in a professional manner.
- Maintains a clean and organized pharmacy work area.
- Monitors and orders inventory of medications.
- Prepares intravenous mixtures and other sterile products.
- Assists in the training of new pharmacy technicians.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures for the safe and efficient operation of the pharmacy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
