  3. Follow established protocols and procedures to prevent and respond to safety incidents.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare team members.
  5. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in potentially stressful situations.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient safety plans.

  8. Attend and actively participate in safety training and education programs.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Patient Safety Attendant At Johns Hopkins Medicine Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Understand And Follow Instructions.

  • Cpr/Bls Certification: Since A Patient Safety Attendant May Be Required To Provide Emergency Care To Patients, Having A Current Cpr/Bls Certification Is Essential. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Respond To Medical Emergencies Effectively.

  • Previous Healthcare Experience: Having Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Nursing Home, Is Preferred For A Patient Safety Attendant Position. This Experience Can Include Working As A Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Or Patient Care Technician.

  • Strong Communication Skills: A Patient Safety Attendant Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Being Able To Provide Clear And Concise Instructions, As Well As Being Able To Listen And Respond To Patient Needs.

  • Ability To Work Flexible Hours: Patient Safety Attendants May Be Required To Work Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays, Depending On The Needs Of The Hospital. Candidates Should Be Willing And Able To Work A Flexible Schedule To Accommodate The Needs Of The Patients And The Institution.
