Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Patient Care Technician In The Emergency Department At Johns Hopkins Medicine Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Academic Concepts And Can Follow Instructions.

  • Cna Or Emt Certification: A Certification As A Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Or Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Is Preferred For This Position. These Certifications Demonstrate That The Candidate Has Received Specialized Training In Providing Direct Patient Care And Is Familiar With Basic Medical Procedures.

Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work Under Pressure: The Emergency Department Can Be A Chaotic And High-Stress Environment, And A Patient Care Technician Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks And Prioritize Effectively. This Requires Strong Organizational Skills, The Ability To Work Well Under Pressure, And The Ability To Adapt To Changing Situations.
