Job Description

We are actively seeking a Pathology Medical Archives Coordinator to join Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Pathology and Laboratory Medicine department. This collaborative role requires a highly organized and motivated professional with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the pathology archives, coordinating and ensuring accuracy of pathology reports, and leading projects to improve pathology archiving processes.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in a pathology archive or medical records environment, with a strong understanding of recordkeeping processes and standards. Knowledge of coding and billing processes, as well as experience working with laboratory information systems, is essential. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task, and a commitment to providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the pathology archives, ensuring accuracy of records and documents.
  2. Lead projects to improve pathology archiving processes.
  3. Track and monitor patient records and pathology reports.
  4. Work collaboratively with the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine department.
  5. Maintain coding and billing processes, as well as experience working with laboratory information systems.
  6. Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
  7. Maintain professional standards and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Ensure accuracy of data entry and accuracy of reports.
  9. Monitor pathology archiving processes and identify areas for improvement.
  10. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the archives.
