As the manager of our pathology lab, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of diagnostic testing and research activities.   1. Oversee the daily operations of the pathology lab, including managing staff, scheduling, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  2. Develop and implement protocols and procedures for diagnostic testing and research activities.
  3. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including CLIA and CAP.
  4. Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, equipment, and reagents.
  5. Work closely with other departments to coordinate testing and research projects.
  6. Train and mentor lab staff on new procedures and techniques.
  7. Monitor quality control and quality assurance measures to ensure accuracy and precision of test results.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or operational issues that may arise.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation of lab activities.
  10. Keep up-to-date with advancements in pathology and implement new technologies and methodologies in the lab.
  11. Collaborate with physicians and researchers to support their diagnostic and research needs.
  12. Monitor lab budget and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  13. Participate in performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to lab staff.
  14. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  15. Represent the pathology lab in meetings and committees as needed.
  16. Continuously evaluate and improve lab processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  17. Adhere to and promote a culture of safety and compliance within the lab.
  18. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in pathology.
  19. Take on special projects and assignments as needed.
  20. Serve as a role model for professionalism, integrity, and excellence in patient care and research.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, With At Least 2 Years In A Management Or Leadership Role.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Or A Related Field. Master's Degree Preferred.

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) From A Recognized Accreditation Agency.

  • Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Processes, Quality Control, And Regulatory Compliance, Specifically In The Areas Of Clinical Pathology And Molecular Diagnostics.

  • Excellent Communication, Problem-Solving, And Organizational Skills With The Ability To Lead And Mentor A Team Of Laboratory Professionals.
