Welcome to Johns Hopkins Medicine! We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our Pediatric team.   1. Provide direct occupational therapy services to pediatric patients under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
  2. Collaborate with the occupational therapist and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have and providing education on therapy techniques and strategies.
  4. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  5. Regularly assess and modify treatment plans as needed based on patient progress and goals.
  6. Stay up-to-date on current research and evidence-based practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
  7. Monitor and maintain inventory of therapy equipment and supplies.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols in the treatment of patients.
  9. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  12. Continuously strive to improve skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities.
  13. Demonstrate a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families.
  14. Serve as a positive representative of Johns Hopkins Medicine by maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising occupational therapist or department manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of Associate's Degree In Occupational Therapy Assistant Program From An Accredited Institution.

  • Valid Certification As An Occupational Therapy Assistant From The National Board For Certification In Occupational Therapy (Nbcot).

  • Prior Experience Working With Pediatric Populations In A Clinical Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Developmental Milestones, Sensory Integration, And Pediatric Treatment Techniques.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, And Speech Therapists.
