  1. Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for surgical patients.
  2. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  3. Perform advanced procedures and interventions within the scope of practice.
  4. Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  5. Educate patients and their families on pre and post-operative care and provide support throughout the surgical process.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
  7. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.
  8. Stay updated on current best practices and standards in surgical care through continuing education and professional development.
  9. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  10. Prioritize and manage a high volume of patients while maintaining a high level of quality care.
  11. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor for new nurses and healthcare professionals.
  14. Represent Johns Hopkins Medicine in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Program

  • Current And Unrestricted State License As A Nurse Practitioner

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Surgical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Academic Medical Center

  • Certification As A Nurse Practitioner In A Surgical Specialty, Such As Acute Care Or Adult-Gerontology

  • Strong Clinical Skills And Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures, Including Pre-Operative And Post-Operative Care, Wound Management, And Patient Education.
