- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and update educational materials and resources related to pediatric critical care.
- Mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff through various methods, such as observations, feedback, and assessments, and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Stay updated on current trends and advancements in pediatric critical care and incorporate this knowledge into educational programs and resources.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and institutions to facilitate continuing education opportunities for nursing staff.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to pediatric critical care in collaboration with the management team.
- Serve as a clinical expert and resource for nursing staff, patients, and their families regarding pediatric critical care.
- Act as a liaison between the nursing staff and the management team, advocating for the educational needs of the staff and ensuring the implementation of best practices in patient care.
Extensive Clinical Experience In Pediatric Critical Care: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working In A Pediatric Critical Care Setting. This Experience Should Include A Wide Range Of Clinical Skills And Knowledge Of Best Practices In Caring For Critically Ill Children.
Advanced Degree In Nursing Education: A Nurse Educator In Pediatric Critical Care At Johns Hopkins Medicine Should Have A Master's Or Doctoral Degree In Nursing Education Or A Related Field. This Advanced Education Will Provide The Necessary Foundation For Teaching And Leading Educational Programs.
Teaching Experience: Previous Experience In Teaching Or Precepting Nursing Students, Residents, Or Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential For This Role. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Teaching Methodologies And Be Able To Adapt Them To Meet The Needs Of Diverse Learners.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Nurse Educator, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Conducting Educational Sessions, Facilitating Discussions, And Leading Other Educational Initiatives. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Engage And Motivate Learners.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practice And Research: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practice And Be Able To Incorporate It Into Their Teaching.
