- Perform nuclear medicine procedures and accurately interpret results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and monitor patients during procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Operate and maintain complex nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and results, adhering to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging protocols and provide accurate and timely results.
- Educate patients about the procedures, answer any questions or concerns, and address any potential risks or side effects.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of radiopharmaceuticals and other supplies, ensuring appropriate levels for patient care.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and techniques through continuing education and training opportunities.
- Provide excellent patient care and customer service, demonstrating compassion, empathy, and professionalism at all times.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or issues to appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of patient care and outcomes.
- Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures, including safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.
- Maintain all necessary certifications and licensures required for the role.
Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology From An Accredited Program.
Certification From The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) Or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb).
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience As A Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Knowledge Of Radiation Safety, Patient Care, And Proper Use Of Equipment.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team.
