- Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments for patients.
- Collect and update patient information, including personal and insurance details.
- Maintain patient records and ensure their accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Communicate with patients regarding their appointments, test results, and follow-up care.
- Process and file medical documents, such as lab results and referrals.
- Coordinate and schedule patient referrals to other healthcare providers.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes.
- Maintain inventory of office and medical supplies and place orders when necessary.
- Manage billing and insurance claims, including verifying insurance coverage and collecting payments.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and timely patient care.
- Follow all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities.
- Understand and adhere to all policies and procedures of Johns Hopkins Medicine.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Medical Office Assistant At Johns Hopkins Medicine Should Have A Minimum Educational Qualification Of A High School Diploma Or Its Equivalent.
Medical Office Assistant Certification: A Certification In Medical Office Assistant Training From An Accredited Institution Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Good Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Basic Medical Procedures Is Necessary For This Role.
Computer Skills: Proficiency In Using Computer Software And Electronic Medical Record Systems Is Required For Efficient Management Of Patient Records And Scheduling Appointments.
