  1. Oversee the daily operations of the nursing staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of patient care.
  2. Provide guidance, support, and direction to nursing staff, including conducting regular performance evaluations and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-based practices and protocols for patient care.
  4. Monitor and maintain nursing staff compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  5. Ensure adequate staffing levels and make adjustments as needed to meet patient care needs.
  6. Foster a positive and professional work environment for nursing staff, promoting teamwork and open communication.
  7. Serve as a mentor and coach to nursing staff, providing ongoing education and training opportunities to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
  8. Participate in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new nursing staff.
  9. Act as a liaison between nursing staff and other departments to facilitate communication and promote collaboration.
  10. Utilize data and quality metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.
  11. Conduct regular rounds on patient care units to assess the quality of care and address any concerns or issues.
  12. Maintain a high level of clinical competency and serve as a resource for nursing staff by staying up-to-date on current best practices and advancements in the field of medicine.
  13. Lead by example and uphold the values and mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Participate in departmental and hospital-wide meetings and committees to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  15. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License In The State Of Maryland.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Registered Nurse, With At Least 2 Years In A Leadership Role.

  • Master's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field.

  • Strong Clinical Knowledge And Expertise In A Specialty Area (E.g. Critical Care, Oncology, Pediatrics).

  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Mentor And Develop Staff, Manage Budgets, And Implement Quality Improvement Initiatives.
