Job Description

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a talented, passionate Lactation Consultant to join our team! This individual will provide professional lactation services to our birthing families, promoting optimal infant feeding and nutrition. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent communication and clinical skills as well as the ability to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patient care.We are looking for an experienced, dedicated health care professional who has a current certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). We also require a minimum of two years’ experience providing lactation services or two years’ experience in a related field. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide professional lactation services to birthing families, promoting optimal infant feeding and nutrition.
  2. Utilize excellent communication and clinical skills to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patient care.
  3. Maintain current certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
  4. Possess two years of experience providing lactation services or two years of experience in a related field.
  5. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field (preferred).
  6. Demonstrate commitment to excellence and a passion for helping others.
  7. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  8. Maintain patient confidentiality.
  9. Maintain up to date knowledge of lactation practices and protocols.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure best practice care.
