Job Description

Johns Hopkins Medicine is looking for an experienced Insurance Authorization Specialist to join our team. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the insurance authorization process and ensuring that all required paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently.We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about providing excellent customer service and enjoys working with a variety of people. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a medical office setting and a strong understanding of insurance policies, medical terminology, and CPT/ICD-10 coding. Additionally, the successful candidate will possess superior organizational and communication skills, a problem-solving attitude, and the ability to work well under pressure. Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the insurance authorization process to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, medical terminology, and CPT/ICD-10 coding.
  3. Provide excellent customer service when working with a variety of people.
  4. Possess superior organizational and communication skills.
  5. Demonstrate problem-solving attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance companies.
  7. Handle requests and inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers.
  8. Maintain up-to-date records of all insurance authorizations.
  9. Monitor and analyze insurance trends and changes in the healthcare industry.
  10. Resolve any discrepancies or disputes that may arise regarding insurance authorizations.
