
Insurance Authorization Specialist
Johns Hopkins Medicine is looking for an experienced Insurance Authorization Specialist to join our team. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the insurance authorization process and ensuring that all required paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently.We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about providing excellent customer service and enjoys working with a variety of people. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a medical office setting and a strong understanding of insurance policies, medical terminology, and CPT/ICD-10 coding. Additionally, the successful candidate will possess superior organizational and communication skills, a problem-solving attitude, and the ability to work well under pressure. Responsibilities:
- Manage the insurance authorization process to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, medical terminology, and CPT/ICD-10 coding.
- Provide excellent customer service when working with a variety of people.
- Possess superior organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrate problem-solving attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance companies.
- Handle requests and inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all insurance authorizations.
- Monitor and analyze insurance trends and changes in the healthcare industry.
- Resolve any discrepancies or disputes that may arise regarding insurance authorizations.
