As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety and security for one of the nation's leading healthcare institutions.   1. Develop and implement strategic plans for the overall safety and security operations of the institution.
  2. Lead and manage a team of safety and security professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  3. Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to safety and security.
  4. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential risks and threats to the institution.
  5. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to safety and security.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies and other external partners.
  7. Conduct regular assessments and audits of safety and security protocols and make necessary improvements.
  8. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to safety and security.
  9. Manage the budget for the safety and security department, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  10. Serve as a liaison between the institution and the community, addressing any safety and security concerns that may arise.
  11. Develop and conduct training programs for employees on safety and security protocols.
  12. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology systems used for safety and security purposes.
  13. Respond to any safety and security incidents and lead investigations as needed.
  14. Communicate regularly with senior leadership to provide updates on safety and security operations.
  15. Foster a culture of safety and security awareness among all employees.
  16. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and protocols.
  17. Represent the institution at industry conferences and events related to safety and security.
  18. Ensure the highest level of customer service is provided to patients, staff, and visitors in all safety and security interactions.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Law Enforcement And Public Safety: The Ideal Candidate For Executive Director Of Public Safety At Johns Hopkins Medicine Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement Or Public Safety, With A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Overseeing Large-Scale Security Operations.

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills: The Executive Director Of Public Safety Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Security Personnel And Collaborating With Other Departments Within Johns Hopkins Medicine. As Such, The Candidate Must Have Strong Leadership And Management Skills, With The Ability To Motivate And Guide A Diverse Team.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Security Regulations And Best Practices: Working In A Healthcare Environment Presents Unique Security Challenges, And The Executive Director Of Public Safety Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Relevant Regulations And Best Practices To Ensure The Safety And Security Of Patients, Staff, And Visitors.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Executive Director Of Public Safety Will Be Responsible For Liaising With Various Stakeholders, Including Hospital Administrators, Government Agencies, And Community Partners. The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Represent Johns Hopkins Medicine And Foster Positive Relationships.

  • Advanced Education And Training: A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Position. Additionally, Advanced Training In Areas Such As Emergency Management, Risk Assessment, And Crisis Response Will Be Highly Valued.
