- Review and analyze patient medical records for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or missing information in patient documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of patient documentation.
- Follow departmental procedures and policies for handling and storing sensitive patient information.
- Utilize electronic medical records systems to access and update patient information.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify and obtain missing information.
- Prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines and maintain high productivity.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by providing input and suggestions for process enhancements.
- Remain knowledgeable about current documentation standards and regulations.
- Attend trainings and educational programs to stay updated on best practices and procedures.
- Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
- Uphold the mission and values of Johns Hopkins Medicine in all aspects of the job.
- Strive for continuous improvement and actively participate in team meetings and discussions.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or Medical Science.
Previous Experience In Medical Documentation Review, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Excellent Attention To Detail And Ability To Identify And Correct Errors In Medical Documentation.
Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Coding Systems, And Federal Regulations Related To Medical Records.
Ability To Work Independently And Prioritize Tasks In A Fast-Paced Environment, While Maintaining Confidentiality And Adhering To Strict Deadlines.
