
Clinical Nurse Specialist - Oncology
Johns Hopkins Medicine is looking for an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist - Oncology who is passionate about providing quality care and making a difference in the lives of our patients. This individual must have extensive knowledge of oncology nursing, acute care, and patient education. They must have a demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland • Advanced degree in nursing or a related field • 5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Oncology setting • Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN)• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to oncology patients in accordance with established standards and practices.
- Educate patients and families on cancer diagnosis, treatments, and self-care.
- Develop treatment plans and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and assess patient progress and collaborate with health care providers to adjust care plans as needed.
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Remain up to date on the latest advances in oncology treatments and patient care.
- Maintain active Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland.
- Adhere to all Johns Hopkins Medicine policies and procedures.
Masters Degree In Nursing
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills
Current Licensure As A Registered Nurse In The State Of Maryland
At Least Years Of Experience In Oncology Nursing
Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification
Experience With Chemotherapy And Radiation Treatments
Knowledge Of Cancer Research
Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively.
