Job Description

Johns Hopkins Medicine is looking for an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a Clinical Lab Scientist. In this role, you will be working in our state-of-the-art laboratory to perform diagnostic testing, evaluate results, and report findings to staff physicians. The ideal candidate for this position will have an education in Medical Technology or a related field, a certification in laboratory sciences, and extensive experience working in a clinical laboratory setting. You must also have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities of the Clinical Lab Scientist:

  1. Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to diagnose and treat diseases.
  2. Evaluate laboratory test results and report findings to staff physicians.
  3. Establish and maintain a quality assurance program to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
  4. Follow established laboratory safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  5. Conduct research and develop new procedures to improve laboratory performance and accuracy.
  6. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure proper functioning.
  7. Train and supervise laboratory personnel in proper laboratory techniques and procedures.
  8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure optimal patient care and efficient laboratory operations.
  9. Comply with local, state and federal regulations and standards.
  10. Demonstrate excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
