  1. Develop and implement interventions to support children and families facing medical challenges.
  2. Provide emotional and psychosocial support to pediatric patients and their families.
  3. Utilize knowledge of child development to assess and address the needs of young patients.
  4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for pediatric patients.
  5. Use creativity to develop age-appropriate activities and interventions to promote coping and minimize stress for children.
  6. Maintain a compassionate and patient demeanor while interacting with children and families.
  7. Utilize strong communication skills to effectively explain medical procedures and treatments to children and families.
  8. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in child life and incorporate them into practice.
  9. Document and communicate observations and progress to the medical team and family members.
  10. Provide education and support to families on how to support their child's emotional well-being during and after hospitalization.
  11. Collaborate with community resources to provide additional support to pediatric patients and families.
  12. Participate in hospital events and programs to promote the importance of child life services.
  13. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve child life services to ensure the best possible care for pediatric patients.
  15. Contribute to research and publications in the field of child life to advance the profession.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Or Related Field.

  • Certified Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Designation From The Association Of Child Life Professionals (Aclp).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Children And Families In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Child Development, Family Systems, And Developmental Coping Strategies.
