- Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and programs for children in the hospital setting.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to children and their families during their hospital stay.
- Collaborate with the child life specialist to develop individualized care plans for patients.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and families, adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining playrooms and activity areas for patients.
- Utilize knowledge of child development to provide appropriate support and interventions for children of all ages.
- Assist in coordinating special events and celebrations for patients and families.
- Document and maintain accurate records of patient interactions and progress.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve and enhance the child life program.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the child life specialist or supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Child Development, Child Life, Psychology, Or Related Field
Completion Of A Child Life Internship Or Practicum
Certification As A Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Or Eligibility To Sit For The Exam
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working With Children In A Healthcare Setting
Knowledge Of Child Development, Play Therapy, And Coping Techniques For Children In Medical Settings
