Job Description

  1. Provide direct patient care: The Certified Nursing Assistant will be responsible for assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  2. Monitor patient vital signs: The candidate will be responsible for taking and recording patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature, and reporting any abnormalities to the nursing team.
  3. Assist with medical procedures: The CNA will work closely with the nursing team to assist with medical procedures, such as wound care, catheter insertion, and specimen collection, following all safety protocols.
  4. Maintain a clean and safe environment: The candidate will ensure that patient rooms and common areas are kept clean and organized, adhering to infection control guidelines to promote a safe and healthy environment for patients.
  5. Communicate effectively: The CNA will communicate regularly with the nursing team, providing updates on patient conditions and reporting any concerns or changes in patient status.
  6. Provide emotional support: The candidate will demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families, offering emotional support and providing comfort during their time in the Emergency Department.
  7. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team: The Certified Nursing Assistant will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  8. Follow established protocols: The candidate will adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control, safety, and patient privacy guidelines.
  9. Maintain accurate documentation: The CNA will accurately document patient care activities, including vital signs, procedures performed, and patient responses, in accordance with hospital standards.
  10. Participate in ongoing education: The candidate will participate in educational opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in emergency nursing.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Certification As A Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) By The State Of Maryland.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience In Emergency Medicine Or Critical Care Nursing.

  • Strong Understanding Of Emergency Nursing Procedures And Protocols.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Provide Compassionate And High-Quality Patient Care, While Maintaining Patient Safety And Confidentiality.
