1. Greet and welcome patients to the Johns Hopkins Medicine Surgery department with a friendly and professional demeanor.
2. Provide exceptional patient care by assisting with procedures, taking vital signs, and documenting patient information accurately and efficiently.
3. Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
4. Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology and procedures to accurately communicate with patients and medical staff.
5. Keep patient records up-to-date and organized, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy at all times.
6. Assist with scheduling appointments, tests, and procedures for patients.
7. Educate patients on pre and post-operative care instructions and answer any questions they may have.
8. Work closely with medical staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
9. Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
10. Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
11. Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, and maintaining inventory of supplies.
