- Greet and welcome patients to the Johns Hopkins Medicine Surgery department with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Provide exceptional patient care by assisting with procedures, taking vital signs, and documenting patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology and procedures to accurately communicate with patients and medical staff.
- Keep patient records up-to-date and organized, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy at all times.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, tests, and procedures for patients.
- Educate patients on pre and post-operative care instructions and answer any questions they may have.
- Work closely with medical staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, and maintaining inventory of supplies.
- Continuously strive to provide the highest quality of care to patients, upholding the standards and values of Johns Hopkins Medicine.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and protocols.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and promoting a professional work environment.
Current Certification As A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) From An Accredited Organization, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Medical Assistant In A Surgical Setting.
Proficiency In Surgical Assisting Techniques And Knowledge Of Surgical Instruments And Procedures.
Strong Organizational Skills And Ability To Prioritize Tasks In A Fast-Paced Surgical Environment.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Team Members.
