  1. Assist physicians and healthcare providers in providing high-quality care to patients in the field of otolaryngology.
  2. Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits.
  3. Greet patients and obtain medical history and vital signs.
  4. Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
  5. Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures, such as collecting and preparing specimens.
  6. Educate patients on proper care and management of their conditions.
  7. Assist with patient scheduling and referrals to other healthcare providers.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  9. Adhere to all established protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
  11. Continuously participate in professional development and training to stay updated on new practices and techniques.
  12. Provide support and assistance to physicians during procedures and surgeries.
  13. Ensure proper inventory and stocking of medical supplies and equipment.
  14. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) At Johns Hopkins Medicine In Otolaryngology Should Possess A Diploma Or Certificate From An Accredited Medical Assistant Program.

  • Certification By The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama): A Cma At Johns Hopkins Medicine Should Be Certified By The Aama, Demonstrating Competence And Adherence To Ethical Standards In The Field Of Medical Assisting.

  • Experience In Otolaryngology: Previous Experience Working In Otolaryngology Or A Related Specialty Is Highly Preferred For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Otolaryngology Procedures, Equipment, And Terminology.

  • Knowledge Of Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems: As Johns Hopkins Medicine Is Committed To Using State-Of-The-Art Ehr Systems, Candidates Should Have Experience Working With Ehr Systems And Be Comfortable Navigating And Documenting Patient Information In These Systems.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Cma At Johns Hopkins Medicine Should Have Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact Effectively With Patients, Families, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Explain Complex Medical Information In A Clear And Concise Manner.
