- Provide support and guidance to new mothers and their babies during the postpartum period.
- Conduct thorough assessments of breastfeeding and provide education and assistance to families on proper techniques.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for breastfeeding mothers and their babies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current research and best practices in lactation and breastfeeding.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive and comfortable breastfeeding experience.
- Document all patient interactions and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in the development and implementation of educational programs for new mothers and healthcare staff.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as professional standards and ethical guidelines.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to mothers experiencing challenges with breastfeeding.
- Continuously evaluate and improve upon lactation services and resources offered by the organization.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for breastfeeding in the community.
- Maintain certification and attend ongoing education and training to stay current in lactation practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive patient experience.
- Collaborate with other lactation consultants and healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive approach to patient care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Certified Lactation Consultant (Clc) Certification: The Candidate Must Possess A Clc Certification Through A Recognized Organization Such As The International Board Of Lactation Consultant Examiners (Iblce).
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Medical Knowledge And Patient Care.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Setting Providing Lactation Support And Education To Mothers And Families.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Role. The Candidate Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices In Lactation Support And Be Able To Apply Them In Their Practice. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Providing The Most Up-To-Date And Effective Care To Patients.
