  1. Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams on patients to evaluate cardiac function and detect abnormalities.
  2. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment in accordance with established protocols and safety procedures.
  3. Accurately record and document patient information, exam details, and findings in electronic medical records.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop appropriate treatment plans based on exam results.
  5. Provide compassionate care to patients during procedures and ensure their comfort and safety.
  6. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
  7. Stay up-to-date on current techniques and advancements in cardiac sonography to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  8. Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure understanding and provide education about procedures and results.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  11. Perform quality control checks on equipment and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  12. Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments.
  13. Adhere to departmental policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  14. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement and patient care.
  15. Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude at all times while representing Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or Related Field

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (Rdcs) Certification From The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Performing Cardiac Ultrasound Procedures

  • Knowledge Of Various Cardiac Imaging Techniques, Including 2D And 3D Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, And Transesophageal Echocardiography

  • Familiarity With Advanced Cardiac Imaging Software And Equipment, Such As Ge Vivid And Philips Epiq Systems
