Job Description

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Inpatient Oncology team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering outstanding patient care and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position requires a commitment to excellence and a dedication to providing exceptional, compassionate care.The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical skills and a broad knowledge of acute care nursing and oncology, as well as the ability to think critically and make appropriate decisions. This individual must also be comfortable working independently and have an unwavering commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Nursing and have at least one year of experience as an Acute Care NP. Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner is also required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide exceptional patient care with compassion and professionalism.
  2. Utilize strong clinical skills and knowledge of acute care nursing and oncology to make informed decisions.
  3. Work independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
  4. Remain current on evidence-based practice and trends.
  5. Deliver quality care to meet patient needs and improve outcomes.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and treatments.
  7. Administer medications, prescribe treatments, and assess patient progress.
  8. Monitor patient vitals and vital signs.
  9. Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and self-care.
  10. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nursing Or Doctor Of Nursing Practice

  • National Board Certification In Acute Care

  • Current Licensure In The State Of Maryland

  • Minimum Of Years Of Experience In Oncology

  • Experience In Inpatient Care And Management Of Acute And Chronic Conditions

  • Knowledge Of And Experience With Chemotherapeutic Agents And Protocols

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practice Guidelines For Oncology
