- Accurately process and submit medical bills for patients in a timely manner.
- Ensure all billing and coding is compliant with industry regulations and company policies.
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies to resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.
- Provide support and guidance to patients in navigating their healthcare billing, including explaining charges and helping them understand their insurance coverage.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure accurate and efficient billing processes.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and coding to accurately assign codes for procedures and services.
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure proper documentation and coding.
- Stay up-to-date on industry changes and updates in medical billing and coding.
- Assist with training and mentoring new team members on medical billing procedures and best practices.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
- Identify and report any billing errors or issues to management for resolution.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of billing activities and patient interactions.
- Continuously strive to improve the billing process and provide excellent customer service to patients.
Knowledge Of Medical Billing And Coding: A Successful Candidate For This Role Should Possess Comprehensive Knowledge And Understanding Of Medical Billing And Coding Procedures, Including Cpt, Icd-10, And Hcpcs Codes.
Familiarity With Patient Support Programs: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Patient Support Programs And Be Familiar With The Processes And Regulations Involved In Managing These Programs.
Strong Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In Medical Billing, And A Patient Support Medical Biller Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Patient Information And Billing Codes Are Entered Correctly.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Patient Support Medical Biller, You Will Be Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Insurance Companies On A Regular Basis. Therefore, Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role.
