- Advise and guide product development teams on privacy and data protection matters, ensuring compliance with global privacy laws and regulations.
- Utilize expertise and strategic thinking to develop and implement privacy policies and procedures.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments for new products and features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure privacy considerations are integrated into product design and development.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to privacy and data protection.
- Provide legal guidance on data sharing agreements and vendor contracts.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs.
- Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify potential privacy risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Respond to privacy-related inquiries and complaints from customers, regulators, and other external parties.
- Maintain and update privacy policies and statements to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and business practices.
- Represent the company in privacy-related litigation and negotiations.
- Monitor and report on privacy incidents and breaches, and develop and implement remediation plans.
- Work closely with the legal team to ensure consistency and alignment with overall legal strategy and objectives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy and data protection matters, providing guidance and support to other members of the legal team.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on privacy-related issues and potential risks.
Extensive Experience In Privacy Laws And Regulations: A Senior Corporate Counsel At Intuit Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Global Privacy Laws And Regulations, Including Gdpr, Ccpa, And Other Relevant Privacy Frameworks.
Strong Knowledge Of Product Privacy: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Product Privacy And Data Protection Best Practices, Including Data Mapping, Data Retention, And Data Breach Response.
Experience In Regulatory Compliance: The Senior Corporate Counsel Should Have Experience In Advising On And Ensuring Compliance With Various Regulatory Requirements, Such As Ftc Guidelines And Industry-Specific Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Role Requires Regular Communication With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Product Managers And Engineering Teams. The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills For Effective Stakeholder Management.
Prior Experience In A Corporate Legal Department: The Senior Corporate Counsel Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In A Corporate Legal Department, Preferably In A Technology Company. The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Providing Legal Counsel On Complex Privacy And Data Protection Issues.
