- Develop and implement privacy policies and procedures in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitor and assess changes in privacy laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
- Interpret and advise on legal implications of potential privacy issues and concerns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure privacy and data protection measures are integrated into product development and business operations.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on privacy and data governance matters to internal stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver trainings on privacy and data protection best practices to employees.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and vendors, as needed.
- Handle privacy-related inquiries and complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings related to privacy and data protection.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and advise on innovative approaches to privacy and data governance.
- Collaborate with the legal team to review and negotiate contracts and agreements related to privacy and data protection.
- Work cross-functionally with compliance, security, and IT teams to ensure a holistic approach to privacy and data protection.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Intuit's products and services to provide strategic guidance on privacy and data governance matters.
- Proactively identify and address potential privacy and data protection risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.
Knowledge Of Privacy Laws And Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Privacy Laws And Regulations At Both The National And International Level, Such As Ccpa, Gdpr, And Hipaa. They Should Also Stay Updated On Any Changes Or Updates To These Laws.
Experience In Data Governance: Intuit's Corporate Counsel For Privacy Data Governance Should Have Experience In Developing And Implementing Data Governance Policies And Procedures, Including Data Classification, Data Retention, And Data Security Measures.
Legal Background: A Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School Is Required For This Position. The Candidate Should Also Be A Licensed Attorney With At Least 5 Years Of Experience Practicing In The Field Of Privacy And Data Governance.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Key Member Of The Corporate Legal Team, The Corporate Counsel For Privacy Data Governance Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. They Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate Complex Legal Concepts To Non-Legal Stakeholders And Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams.
Experience With Technology Companies: Intuit Is A Technology Company, And The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Technology Companies Or In-House Legal Departments In The Tech Industry. This Will Ensure They Have A Good Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Opportunities In Managing Privacy And Data Governance In A Fast-Paced And Innovative Environment.
