Job Description

Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with experience in shipping and logistics? In this role, you will oversee the shipping department, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers.   1. Oversee and manage the shipping department, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  2. Lead a team of shipping associates, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure success.
  3. Develop and implement shipping processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure product availability for timely delivery to customers.
  5. Collaborate with other departments such as production and sales to coordinate shipping schedules and meet customer demands.
  6. Communicate with carriers and freight forwarders to negotiate rates and ensure timely delivery of shipments.
  7. Maintain accurate shipping records and reports, including tracking information, delivery times, and customer feedback.
  8. Identify and resolve any shipping issues or delays to minimize impact on customers.
  9. Continuously monitor and improve shipping operations to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  10. Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and safety guidelines.
  11. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
  13. Act as a liaison between the shipping department and other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  14. Train and onboard new shipping team members, providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to be successful in their roles.
  15. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Shipping And Logistics: The Ideal Candidate For The Shipping Lead Position At International Paper Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, With A Strong Understanding Of Shipping Processes, Logistics, And Supply Chain Management.

  • Leadership Skills: As A Shipping Lead, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Overseeing And Managing A Team Of Shipping And Warehouse Personnel. Therefore, They Should Have Excellent Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Motivate And Guide Team Members Towards Achieving Company Objectives.

  • Attention To Detail: Shipping And Logistics Require A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail To Ensure That Orders Are Fulfilled Correctly And On Time. The Shipping Lead Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify And Resolve Any Potential Issues In The Shipping Process.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Shipping Lead Will Be Required To Communicate With Various Departments And External Stakeholders, Such As Carriers And Suppliers. They Should Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Information And Instructions To The Team And External Parties.

  • Knowledge Of Safety And Compliance Regulations: International Paper Places A High Priority On Safety And Compliance In All Its Operations. Therefore, The Shipping Lead Should Have A Good Understanding Of Safety Regulations And Compliance Requirements, As Well As Experience In Implementing And Enforcing Them Within The Shipping Department.
