Job Description

InterContinental Hotels is seeking an experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join our dynamic team. As the Purchasing Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing our purchasing activities and developing and executing a purchasing strategy that meets the needs of our company. The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work well with all levels of personnel. If you are a motivated individual who is looking to join an established and successful organization, we would love to hear from you.Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.• 5+ years of relevant experience in a purchasing environment.• Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing principles, sourcing, supply chain, and inventory management.• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with proven ability to develop effective solutions.• Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to manage and develop a team.• Experience working in a hospitality environment preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a purchasing strategy that meets the needs of the company.
  2. Negotiate with vendors to secure the best prices, terms, and delivery of goods and services.
  3. Maintain and monitor inventory levels and ensure that all materials and supplies are available when needed.
  4. Analyze and evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to ensure that quality standards are met.
  5. Establish procedures for the efficient and timely procurement of goods and services.
  6. Prepare and review purchase orders, contracts, and agreements.
  7. Monitor and adhere to budget guidelines to ensure cost savings.
  8. Manage and develop the Purchasing team, including training, coaching and setting goals.
  9. Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  10. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
