Job Description

The Instagram Python Runtime team builds high-performance customized runtimes to run Instagram’s Server tier. Software Engineering Managers are clearly characterized by progressive technical experience and demonstrated progression in management responsibility. Set clear goals for the team and guide them through execution. Support a team of diverse technical talent to achieve their best. Hold your own in technical discussions, guiding technical specialists in the team to conclusion. Conduct design and code reviews with the team. Communicate cross-functionally, ensuring effective collaboration across Facebook.

Job Qualifications

3 or more years of experience with engineering management
5+ years coding experience in languages
Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
M.S. or Ph.D. training in compiler engineering or related fields preferred
Experience leading teams building programming language virtual machines, compilers, or related projects
